Aquisition and Leveraged Finance

Acquisition & Leveraged Finance forms an integral part of Kaupthing's Investment Banking activity.

The team is aligned to the mid-market and supports clients such as financial sponsors, corporates and entrepreneurs in a number of scenarios, ranging from leveraged acquisitions, public to privates, management buy-outs and recapitalisations.

To facilitate a transaction the team can arrange and underwrite the full suite of products throughout the capital structure, including senior debt, working capital facilities, second lien, subordinated debt, and PIK notes. It also has the capability to co-invest in the equity with key clients if the opportunity is available.

Currently the Bank can underwrite up to £800m in any one transaction however the sweet spot is arranging debt facilities of c£200-300m, with the team working closely with the Debt Syndication and Distribution team to achieve a successful sell-down in the European Loan Syndication Market.

Activities have a pan-European focus and the team can draw on the support of the other Investment Banking teams across the Nordic region as required. A general approach is taken towards sectors, but the team has a strong track record in both retail and leisure. The team has a wealth of experience in the leveraged finance market and have a strong track record, having completed over 40 lead arrange deals since 2004. Flexibility, deliverability and speed of response are the key skills it brings to its clients.
