Debt Syndication and Distribution

The Debt Syndication & Distribution team is responsible for the assessment of underwriting risk, together with the co-ordinated syndication and sell down of the Group's debt products into the European Loan Syndication Market on both a primary and secondary basis.

Based in London, the heart of the Market, the business is positioned as an Investment Banking service offering and is closely aligned with the Acquisition & Leveraged Finance team and their respective product offerings.

The team provides the Market with a clear point of contact for transactions led by the Bank (which are primarily leveraged buyouts and/or structured asset/real estate in nature) and therefore has responsibility for building relationships with potential Investors, ranging from traditional banks to more specialist institutional, mezzanine and hedge funds, as well as other arranging banks. The team also maintains a comprehensive database of transactions being syndicated across the market, which it uses to monitor market trends and provide comparable deal information. Together with the assessment of underwriting risk, the team's previous experience, relationships with clients and an up to date knowledge of investor appetite also allows us to provide the relevant deal to market structuring guidance to transaction teams.
